It is the third public cemetery in Fremantle. The first was in Alma Street, which closed in 1855 and is now a primary school. The second, at Skinner Street, started in 1852 and was operating until 1899, when this cemetery opened. Burials were transferred by families from earlier cemeteries. In 1930 ninety gravestones were moved from Skinner Street to Fremantle. The grave can be found in Anglican Section A&, Grave 28. Interestingly John is apparently not on the Fremantle cemetery database. It can be found at Presbyterian Section Monumental E, Grave 227. Interestingly her husband is buried alone at Karrakatta Cemetery also in Western Australia.
